Worth the Hype?! – Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue

As part of our stay at Wilderness Lodge, we decided to check out a couple of the dining options that were close by. My top choice was Storybook Dining @ Artist, (which we will have a review on later this month), but my husband wanted to check out the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue.  I have to admit, I wasn’t excited about the two-hour dinner-show, and I was a little nervous about the kiddos having a good time, but in the end, I was pleasantly surprised!

The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is considered an “all you care to enjoy” dinner show which is located at the Campsites at the Fort Wilderness resort.  We took the boat directly from Wilderness Lodge to the campsites, and it took us about 10-15 minutes.

The Dinner Menu:

  • Course 1: Cornbread and salad
  • Course 2: Bucket of fried chicken, a bucket of BBQ pork ribs, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and corn
  • Course 3: Strawberry shortcake

Additionally, there is unlimited draft beer, wine, and sangria for guests 21 years or older.

Estimated Price:

$64-72 per adult (and children over the age of 10) and $38-43 per child (ages 3-9). There are three categories of seating options. The most expensive category is 1 and is closer to the stage.

The dinner show is a prepaid meal, and you do need to pick up tickets at least 40 minutes before your reservation. See the Walt Disney World page for more details on where to pick up your tickets: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/cabins-at-fort-wilderness-resort/hoop-dee-doo-musical-revue/

Food Review:

The kids loved the food, which is always a win for me. The hubs and enjoyed the unlimited beer. We weren’t impressed with the white sangria; it seemed very artificial. The beer was Yuengling, which is one of my favorites. Honestly, we couldn’t eat more than the initial round, but it all pretty amazing. It wasn’t the best chicken and ribs, I’ve ever tasted, but it wasn’t bad. If you’re looking for amazing chicken, then I would head to Homecomin’ at Disney Springs.

Overall Experience:

Jax was picked to be a part of the show!

YeeHaaaww! We had a roarin’ good time at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue! I have to say I was very impressed with the show. The kids were entertained the whole time and eat every bit of their meal. We did pay a premium for our seats, but we thought it was worth it.

And with that, we hope you’re having a magical day!
