Snack List Review From Our October 2018 Trip

As always with every trip to the World, I try to plan out all the different snacks I want to taste. Although I didn’t get through my whole list, below are a few new treats my family tried out as part of our October 2018 trip.

October 2018 Snack List:

Magic Kingdom: Citrus Swirl @ Sunshine Tree Terrace

Options and Price:

  • Citrus Swirl Float ($5.79): the classic frozen orange slushie and vanilla ice cream with orange soda
  • Citrus Swirl ($4.79): the classic frozen orange slushie and vanilla ice cream in a cup or cone
  • Orange Cream Float ($5.79): Orange soft-serve and vanilla soft-serve ice cream with orange soda
  • Orange Cream ($4.79): Orange soft-serve and vanilla soft-serve ice cream in a cup or cone

Review: Great on a hot day! I got the Citrus Swirl Float, and it hit the spot. I think the hubs and I finished it off in about 5 minutes. We also got some soft-serve for the kiddos. TIP – my kids NEVER can finish an ice-cream before it completely melts in the Florida heat, so they typically share. I asked the cast member to split it in advance, and she gave me what looked like two separate orders for the price of one, which was awesome! So, I recommend asking the cast member when you order to split it into two separate cups—if they can.

Magic Kingdom: Cheese Burger Eggrolls @ the kart outside of the Jungle Cruise

Description and Price: $7.50

Two spring rolls

Review: I’m not sure if this lived up to the hype. Overall, yes it was tasty, but at $3.75 a piece, it’s pretty pricey. I would try it if you haven’t yet, but for me, I don’t think I would purchase again.

Disney Springs: Poutine @ The Daily Poutine

Options and Price:

  • Classic Poutine ($9.49): French fries, beef gravy, and cheddar cheese curds
  • Italian Poutine ($9.99): French fries, mozzarella and bolognese sauce
  • Latin Poutine ($9.99): Fried yucca, black beans, pulled pork, and queso fresco
  • French Poutine ($9.99): French fries, mushroom cream sauce, and gruyere cheese
  • Seasonal – Oktoberfest Poutine ($9.99): Stout gravy, bratwurst, sauerkraut and cheese curds

Review: OMG!!! I need to try them all! So I tried the classic and Latin version and YUM! I prefer the Latin version more; the yucca was just so crisp! But the classic was just as yummy. Will definitely try the French the next time we go back! A must try!

Disney Springs: Frozen Beer @YeSake

Description and Price: about $8

Japanese beer (Kirin) with frozen foam

Review: It was great for a hot day, but somewhat overpriced considering the frozen aspect is the part of the beer most people dislike. I will say it did keep the cold with every sip. I would probably get this again just to cool down. I believe you can also get this treat at Epcot’s Japan Pavilion.

Epcot: During Food &Wine at the Spain kiosk – Spanish-Style Paella

Description and Price: $5.25

with chorizo and roasted chicken

Review: YUM! So flavorful and tasty. This is always a must for Hubs and me during Food & Wine, and it will continue to be. The portions are snack size, but shareable. I would also recommend the Charcuterie Cone and the Seafood Salad when checking out the flavors of Spain.

As always we also pick up some popcorn, a few Mickey pretzels and ended with our traditional shaved ice at the Japan Pavilion.

Leave a comment if you have any recommendations for us to try out on our next trip and with that, I hope you’re having a magical day!
