Toy Story Land @ Hollywood Studios Review

As part of our Summer 2018 trip, we checked out Toy Story Land. It is wonderfully themed throughout from the entrance to the restroom. Guests get to experience Andy’s background from a toy’s perspective. And all I can say is “WOW!” It’s adorable in every sense of the word, and there is some decor that brings me back to my childhood, (e.g., Tinker Toys, Dominos, Ants in the Pants).

Fortunately, we were able to get fast passes for all three rides for the duration of our stay. Slinky Dog Dash is the only ride with a height restriction of 38″ so Jax, our littlest was able to enjoy all the rides. The kids enjoyed all the TSL rides. Slinky Dog was their #1 and Alien Swirling Saucers coming in second for Jax. Cay our eldest enjoyed Toy Story Mania, which had a few updates (in the waiting queue) since we rode it in 2011.

I highly recommend checking the land during the day as well as night. It takes on a whole new side once the sun goes down, with all the colorful lights. We didn’t check out the food, because it was crowded and hot/humid. I will caution that it is one of the hotter areas. It’s completely open with no real air conditioning other than Toy Story Mania. Everything is outside, even the seating at Andy’s Lunch Box.

Aside from the people watching and sightseeing, there is plenty of entertainment throughout the land, with Woody and Jessie meet-and-greets to the silly Green Army Men striking a beat with their drums.  The toy structures of Woody, Buzz, Jessie and Rex all talk – which is a beautiful surprise. You also get to meet the Pizza Planet Guards, Wheezy and Mr. Potatoe Head at different areas within the land. We were also able to get a sneak peek of “Galaxy’s Edge,” which is coming along nicely.

I don’t know what more to say; we were thoroughly enjoyed the new addition to Hollywood Studios. We appreciate all of the thought and details that went into developing this fantastic land. It’s incredibly fun for anyone at any age and can be enjoyed by the littlest of your family member to your oldest!

I would love to hear your thoughts, so leave a comment below, and with that, I hope you’re having a magical day!
