As I’ve been reading blogs for my upcoming Disney Cruise, one of the search items that keeps coming up is the topic of Fish Extenders. Being a newbie, I need to find out what this was all about.
After a couple of searches, I found is that a Fish Extender is a gift swap within an organized group of cruisers. Below are the basics:
- What’s a Fish Extender?
- A fish extender is a door hanger that includes the same number of pockets per each member of your cabin crew.
- How do I get one?
- You can create your own or purchase some amazing ones via Esty.
- How do I participate?
- Before your cruise, there will be sign-ups available via Disney cruise forums and Facebook Groups. Each group may have their way of conducting/organizing their group.
- Do I have to participate?
- No, it’s optional.
- What kind of gifts should I give to others?
- Anything goes. Gifts can be homemade or purchased, small or large. I would think along the lines of party favors/stocking stuffers.
For our first cruise, we decided not to participate, since we’ll be flying into Miami the night before and we’re trying to avoid any additional luggage. But I would love to hear your experience, and with that, I hope you’re having a magical day!
