First Disney Cruise: Day 3 – Nassau, Bahamas

Easter Minnie!

On Day 3 we arrived at Nassau, Bahamas. Because we have been to Nassau many times before and actual stay at Atlantis, we decided to stay on the ship, and I’m so glad we did. Although most people did leave the boat, there was the right amount that stayed as well.

Below I have outlined our schedule that day along with some food reviews and tips I learned along the way.

Day 3 also happened to be Easter Sunday. So, I ran to the buffet to grab some cereal and milk for the kiddos before the Catholic mass service. Disney did offer several different services on Sunday. I’m not sure if that normal or just because it was Easter.

Pro-Tip #1: If you have hungry kids in the morning as I do and you need to get up early for church service, plan and wake up early to order room service for breakfasts. It’ll save you time in the end.

Frozen Meet and Greet

Following mass, we had a scheduled Frozen Meet and Greet with Anna and Elsa. This was located at the Animator’s Palette.  I wasn’t expecting much, since most of the princess photo opportunities where just in corners of each deck. However, when we walked into the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the Frozen theme. I highly recommend scheduling this photo opportunity regardless if you have a little princess or not. 🙂

Breakfast

Afterward, we all headed to Cabana’s for breakfast. We must have just missed the rush because it wasn’t as crowded as the day before. Once we wrapped up breakfast, we head back to the room to change into our bathing suits.

Cabana’s Breakfast Food Review: The food was the same each morning, which is fine with me. It allowed me to try different things each day.  Like I stated in my Day 2 review, I love breakfast and Cabana’s has an A+ setup in my book.

“Exploring the Ship”

So, I planned to explore the ship more and check out all the different activities, but my kids had different plans, which included swimming and eating ice-cream. We spend most of our time on the main deck in the pool OR the hot tub. The kids watched three movies that day! My daughter and I decided to sneak away and eat at Cabana for lunch. It was nice because we got a great seat outside overlooking the ocean and were able to have a nice chat, just the two of us.

Cabana’s Lunch Food Review: The food was great, but the dessert was better. They had mini churros and an array of dipping sauces, (caramel, chocolate, vanilla). I have to say I enjoyed Cabana’s food most. I was never disappointed and always satisfied.

Kids swam and watched movies up and until had to get ready for dinner.

Dinner and Evening Show

Our dinner rotation that night was at Animator’s Palette. This restaurant and Rapunzel’s were the best in terms of theme and ambiance.  The restaurant is beautiful and the kids, as well as adults, were entertained with all the videos of drawings. We all played a game of guess which character was being drawn. Mid-way through dinning Fantasia Mickey makes an appearance and magically adds color throughout the room and on each servers’ vest. Super cute and entertaining.

Animator’s Palette Food Review: I believe I got the steak, but I don’t quite remember, which makes me feel like it wasn’t super memorable. So, I’ll say the food was ok, but the entertainment made up for it.

Pro-Tip #2: If you book the Disney Magic and a 4+night trip, I would recommend you request having either Animator’s Palette or Rapunzel’s Royal Table in your rotation at least twice.

After dinner, we headed out on deck to watch the sunset and take a few pics before we headed to the evening show. The ship that night was “Tangled” (link:https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/onboard-activities/tangled-show/). Again this show was packed. We were able to get decent seats because we arrive 30mins before showtime. The musical is just like the movie. Both my kids liked it, my son, more than my daughter. Regardless they were both engaged the whole time.

Pro-Tip #3 (repeat)- if you have a large party, I would recommend heading up to the theatre to grab seats, no later than 30 mins before the start of the show.

Pro-Tip #4 (repeat)-The actors in the show are castmembers around the ship! So keep your eyes open, Fab 5 and Princesses are not the only stars on the boat.

Day 3 Wrap-up

A day on the ship was great, although I wish we would have explored more. The kids enjoyed the Funnel Vision Screen by the pool and the self-service soft ice-cream.

Pro-Tip #5: Two soft-service flavors change each day, so make sure to check those out. I believe, during our trip, there was strawberry, blueberry, banana, and mango.

Comment down below if you’ve been on a Disney Cruise and just stayed on-board rather than explore the land. And with that, I hope you’re having a magical day.
