It’s finally open! Rise of the Resistance, it the main attraction within Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge that we have all been waiting for since the new land initially opened. With the opening at Disney World in early December and the upcoming opening at Disneyland (January 17th), I thought it only fitting to provide the tips and tricks I’ve learned to get on this ride.
Rise of the Resistance (RotR) is similar to Smuggler’s Run (SR) in that it does not offer Fastpasses at this time. The difference between the two is that SR does have a single-rider option, but RotR does not. Therefore below are a couple of tips to increase your chance to get onto the newest Star Wars ride.
- Before you go to the park, make sure you have the appropriate park app downloaded.
- Arrive at least 1-2hr before the park’s opening; this includes Magic hours. NOTE: Hollywood Studios has had unannounced early opening, starting at about 6:30 am. These early opening are not posted anywhere.
- Once you get through security/check-in and are officially in the park, open your park app, (e.g., My Disney Experience)
- You will get the option to get into the virtual queue (if there is still availability) and be provided a boarding group and an estimated timeframe (e.g., morning).
If you get a boarding pass, you’re golden. You can also leave the park and return once your group is called. Comment down below id you have any additional tips or tricks! And with that, I wish you luck on getting to ride this fantastic attraction and hope you have a magical day!
