Disney 101: Epcot Overview

Before this last trip, EPCOT was my favorite park. Who doesn’t love drinking and eating around the world?!?? Although rides are limited, there is plenty of entertainment and activities; you need to know where to find them. Below I lay out how the park is organized.

EPCOT is the Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow! It might not be the same vision Walt originally had but has continued to evolve.

Disney’s Epcot is organized into two distinct lands, Future World and the World Showcase. Future World is made up of the following areas:

  • The Land Pavilion
  • Imagination
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
  • Attractions:
    • Spaceship Earth
    • Mission Space
    • Test Track
    • Coming soon: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
    • Coming soon: Space 220 – restaurant
  • The Odyssey Events Pavilion

The Land Pavilion

Attractions include Living with the Land and Soarin’ Around the World.

Places to eat include one of my favorites Garden Grill, which is an “all-you-care-to-enjoy” character meal; open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, there is a cafeteria, Sunshine Seasons.

There are a couple of small shops, Soarin’ Tour Desk and the Green Thumb Emporium.

Imagination

Attractions include:

  • Journey into Imagination with Figment
  • Disney-Pixar Short Film theater
  • ImageWorks: The What-If Labs
  • Disney Vacation Club lounge

The Seas with Nemo & Friends

Attractions include:

  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
  • Sea Base
  • Turtle Talk with Crush
  • Coming Soon: Journey of Water

There is one restaurant, the Coral Reef Restaurant, which is a table service location.

The World Showcase

The World Showcase currently consists of the following 11 countries:

  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Morocco
  • Japan
  • United State of America
  • Italy
  • German
  • China
  • Norway
  • Mexico

Throughout the World Showcase, there are several different places to eat and shop representing the 11 different cultures around the world.
