Disney 101: Disney Dining Plan

Miner’s Treasure and Poison Apples from Storybook Dining Character Meal

Disney just added another option to the Disney Dining Plan as part of the 2020 updates.

Love character meals and buffets? Then maybe a Disney Dining Plan is for you. Not sure, but would like to know the highlights? Check out the quick overview I put together to help you determine if a dining plan fits with your family needs.

Disney offers four options for the Disney Dining Plan:

  • Quick Service Dining Plan: This plan is about $55 per adult, per night and $26 per child, per night. Each person on the plan will get:
  • Regular Dining Plan: This plan is approximately $78.01 per adult, per night and $30.51 per child, per night. Each person on the plan will get:
  • Disney Dining Plan Plus: This plan is about$94.61 per adult, per night and $35 per child, per night. Each person on the plan will get:
  • Deluxe Dining Plan: This plan is about $119 per adult, per night and $47.50 per child, per night. Each person on the plan will get:

TIP #1: You don’t have to purchase a Dining Plan to get a resort mug. We always get one each stay at about $20 per mug. If you’re staying for at least four nights, I think it’s worth it.

TIP #2: You can trade in dining credits into snack credits. Remember, you can purchase prepackaged snacks that you can take home as gifts.

TIP #3: The best use of your snack credits is during Epcot’s festivals (e.g., Food and Wine, Festival of the Arts, Flower, and Garden, etc.) because of the snack back be $10.

TIP #4: The dining plans come with a lot of food, so if you don’t have a big appetite, it’s probably not worth it.

Have you purchased a Disney Dining Plan? And if so, how did you like it? Was it worth the additional cost? And with that, I hope you’re having a magical day!
