Art of Animation Review

For my daughter’s 10th birthday, she chose to stay at Disney’s Art of Animation. This is one of Disney’s value resorts located right next to Pop Century. This is a beautiful location with two modes of transportation, buses and the NEW Disney Skyliner. We had an excellent time just wondering through the property and checking out all the cute themed areas, the Little Mermaid, Cars, Nemo, and The Lion King. Below is my review of the room and the resort offerings.

The Room:

The room was a lot smaller than what we usually get, but it is a value resort, and we did select the smallest room type, the Little Mermaid. It does sleep four comfortably, but it can get very cramped if you’re not just using it for sleep. The room came with a fridge and a small table for two.

Resort Amenities and Activities:

The largest pool in all of Walt Disney World can be found at the Art of Animation Resort. The Big Blue pool inspired by the Finding Nemo movies includes a splashdown area as well as zero-depth entrance. There are also two more pools available on location, Cozy Cone Pool, located in the Cars area and Flippin’ Fins Pool, located in the Little Mermaid section.

Other Amenities around the resort include:

  • Movies Under the Stars
  • The 1.4-mile jogging trail
  • The Righteous Reef playground
  • Pixel Play Arcade
  • The new Disney Skyliner

I also wanted to highlight that this resort is one of the dog-friendly hotels, but it is only for a limited time.

The Food:

There is one food court, Landscape of Flavors, and no sitdown restaurants. With that said, the food court does provide a variety of food from five distinctive areas, serving classic American cuisine as well as international delights. Additionally, there is a pool bar, the Drop off Pool Bar, located right next to the Big Blue Pool, which offers beverages and snacks.

Overall Experience:

The price was right; we ended up paying about $200 per night during our stay in mid-November. The ability to utilize the Skyliner was efficient and amazing. The kids truly enjoyed it. I would recommend getting a gondola with no characters on it for a crystal clear view. The resort atmosphere was indeed a Disney fan’s dream. The different themes were so fun to explore.

And with that, I hope you’re having a magical day! Let me know if you have any questions!
